When it comes to ranking websites for design, user experience and so on, Apple’s website is usually tops the list. Now, they have done something to make it rank even higher. Apple has made a small shift in their website—so small you may have not even noticed—but the difference it makes is enormous.
They’ve completely revamped how users buy on their website. Before, Apple had two areas on their site: products and store. Users could look at the products, specs and reviews on the product site and then would have to switch over to the store if they wanted to buy. The biggest problem with this is user experience and the extra steps consumers had to make in order to buy the products.
Now, all buying can be done right from apple.com. There’s no longer a divide between product browsing and product buying.
This switch means that Apple is realizing the importance of user experience and how that user experience can lead to better conversions. So what can you learn from this? User experience! User experience! USER EXPERIENCE! It’s important.
