People say pictures are worth a thousand words. This isn’t true — at least when it comes to your website. As important as visuals are, your website’s content is more important. This is because content increases search engine optimization and user experience.
If there isn’t a lot of text on your website, it won’t be as searchable. Search engines won’t be able to pick out words from your site to know what it’s about. Make sure there is quality content on your site with common search words.
Content also increases the user experience. This has two benefits. The first is related to SEO. Google rewards sites with a positive user experience in its algorithm. This includes responsiveness, loading speed and content. If you don’t have content your user experience goes down because pictures don’t communicate as well as words.
This leads us to the second benefit: conversion rates. If you have useful content on your site, users are going to be happier with the experience and will be more likely to buy your product or service.
While pictures have their purpose on your website, there needs to be more — specifically content. And not just any content. It needs to be engaging, useful and high quality content. Good luck!
